Fluffy, tender, classic white bread, made easy using your bread machine to proof and knead the dough for you. Super easy to make and delicious. Over the years I have made many loaves of bread directly in my bread machine. I find that they come out okay but not great. Usually very dense and way too much crust. Now, I still utilize my bread machine to do the proofing process for me, but once the dough is complete, I bake it in the oven to get that perfect texture, shape, and taste you look for in a fresh baked bread. If you don't have a bread machine... you should get one! I use it frequently to save me time when making a variety of doughs, such as bread, pizza dough or cinnamon buns.

1 1/4 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Veg Oil
1/4 Tsp Vinegar in 2 Tbsp Milk
4 Cups AP Flour
2 Tsp Bread Machine Yeast
Makes 2 loaves
Directions:
- Add vinegar to milk and let sit while you prepare the other ingredients
- Add remaining ingredients to your bread machine in the order written above.
- Add buttermilk (vinegar and milk)
- Start the "dough" cycle on the bread machine
- Clean up while you wait
- Remove dough once complete, and turn out onto a lightly floured and clean surface.
- Divide into two even parts.
- Flatten into a square shape using your hands, then fold into a rectangle. Then fold both left and right sides in. Flip the seem to the bottom and gently roll the dough into a wide cylindrical shape. View my video to see how I did it.
- Place into a greased bread tin. Cover with plastic wrap and place in a warm spot for 30 to 60 minutes. The dough will double in size.
TIP if you have a toaster over, warm it slightly then turn off the heat. Place your dough in there to proof.
- Preheat your oven to 375F for at least 30 minutes before you are ready to bake the bread.
- Once dough is proofed to double its size, place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.
- It is done when it feel hard on top and when tapped sounds hollow.
Optional: brush the top of each loaf with egg wash or vegetable oil/melted butter.
- Remove from the oven and allow to sit in the pans for 10 minutes before removing to a cooling rack.
- Once completely cooled, slice and enjoy.
Whether it's Sweet or Savoury, let it be made with love!
