This baked 5 layer dip features, refried beans, seasoned ground beef, taco powder cream cheese, guacamole, jalapeños and lots of cheese. I love all of these things individually so I thought, why not try them all together to make one super hearty hot dip. Great to take to a party or just to enjoy at home.
Ingredients / Directions:
Toppings:
2 to 3 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 Cup Pickled Jalapeño Peppers, diced
1 Can Refried Beans (old el Paso)
2 Cups Store Bought Salsa (optional)
Taco Cream Cheese Layer:
1 Brick Plain Cream Cheese, softened
1 Cup Sour Cream
3/4 Packet Taco Seasoning
Directions:
Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix together. Once reduced into smaller chunks, use your submersion blender to combined until smooth. Check seasoning and add more if desired.
For the Beef layer:
1lb Ground Beef
1 Large Onion, diced
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
2 Tbsp Beef Stock Powder
1/2 Packet of Taco Seasoning
1/4 Cup Water with 1 Tbsp Cornstarch, dissolved
Salt and Pepper to Taste
Directions:
Sauté the beef in salt and pepper. Add in your diced onion and continue to cook 2 minutes. Add minced garlic, seasonings and water with cornstarch. Cook until thickened, then set aside.
Guacamole:
3 Avocados, peeled and diced
3 Cloves of Garlic, minced
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:
Add all your ingredients to a bowl and mash together. Then using a submersion blender, puree until smooth (optional). Check the taste and add more seasoning as desired.
Assembly Directions:
Once all of your layers are prepare, pre heat your oven to 400F. In a large baking dish, start with you refried bean layer, spreading out evenly. Then add your taco cream cheese layer, followed by a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Then add your cooked ground beef and top with diced jalapeños. If using salsa, add this layer next. Sprinkle with a generous helping of shredded cheese, then bake until bubbling and hot. Remove from the oven, then add your guacamole over the top. Serve with your favorite chips or pitas and enjoy!
